Smoked Whisky Tea aged in Starward French Oak Barrels - 75g Loose Leaf Tea
A limited edition, only a limited number of packs made in this batch of Whisky infused Smoked Tea. Complete indulgence!
In a past life this charred American oak barrel was aging full-bodied red wines and Starward Whisky single malt, today it’s infusing our smokey Lapsang Souchong tea leaves with a tantalising mixture of sweet and malty notes.
This Chinese black tea is traditionally wood smoked in the Wuji Mountains of China where this style originated. Lapsang Souchong is used traditionally in Russian Caravan tea blends, to give a smokiness.
The dry tea has been matured for 30 days in an ex-Starward Whisky French oak barrel, which has given it fabulous sweet and malty notes to complement the natural smoke.
Perfect Infusion
Making a pot of tea is a lovely ritual. Let us share Madame's secret to the perfect cup of tea. Add 1 generous teaspoon of tea per 300ml water into your favourite pot. Heat the freshly boiled water to 85c and infuse for 2-3 minutes. Enjoy.
This is tea is designed to be drunk without milk. It is a Chinese black tea without tannin – which means it is not bitter. Smokey, malty and sweet, yes, but not bitter.
