BackScents of the Australian Bush - Pure Beeswax

Scents of the Australian Bush - Pure Beeswax

Introducing our range of natural beeswax candles that embrace Australian heritage and keep the bush scents and stories alive in our hearts. Bushwalk Candles are handmade using natural beeswax sourced from local bee keepers in South East Queensland. They use natural first melt beeswax that still holds some of the delicious golden honey within its cells. This results in a beautiful amber colour and a faint sweet scent as the natural wax melts. This pure beeswax blends perfectly with Australian bush scents and oils to create beautiful scented candles that embrace the essence of the Australian bush. Our connection to the bush is inherited from a long history of proud Australians and story tellers, and these memories are used to inspire and create the range of authentic Australian scented beeswax candles.

Why Beeswax?

Beeswax is the safest and purest natural wax to use in candle making. No added toxic palm oil or foreign genetically modified waxes or oils into the candles. We care as much about our candle making environment as we do about your candle burning experience. A conscious decision to celebrate the amazing scents of the Australian bush meant an alternative to using imported soy wax, our candles are all Australian.

Pure beeswax blends perfectly with our bush scents and oils to create highly scented candles that embrace the essence of the Australian bush. We hope that you find a scent that reflects what Australia smells like to you!

Harder, hotter and less forgiving than soy wax, beeswax taught us to appreciate the brilliance of the honey bee and the beautiful natural scent of beeswax candles. Our local bee keepers care deeply about their bees. Please help to save our bees by not using pesticides or weed killers in your gardens. These pesticides get transferred into the honey we eat and they can kill whole bee colonies.

The products are created by hand, using traditional herbal knowledge and methods.  And importantly, they contain no synthetic additives, no parabens or lauryl sulphates, and are not tested on animals.  Their founding principle is to make fine quality botanically based products - without synthetic additives - the sort of products they would like to use themselves.

When you browse through our shop keep an eye out for our range of Bush Spa salt scrubs and soaks using Australian sea salt, native essential oils and organic botanicals. They are the perfect pairing for a Bushwalk Candle.

Our select range contains lemon myrtle oil and natural ingredients, to complement our other carefully selected lemon myrtle products, to keep your home fragrant and repel insects naturally.

Beeswax Candle Care

Some tips to ensure the perfect beeswax candle experience!

  • Beeswax gets very hot!
  • Beeswax has a much higher melting point than other soy or paraffin waxes, so care should be taken when handling containers of hot beeswax.
  • Tea light candles should always be used with a suitable heat proof tea light holder. The tea light cup will become very hot.
  • Candle tins and glasses should be placed on a suitable heat resistant surface as the containers may become very hot.
  • Don't place candle containers onto painted or varnished tables and surfaces as they may get marked.
  • Candles should never be burnt in drafts, near curtains, or on flammable surfaces like fabric.
  • Keep candle wicks trimmed to approx. 5mm after every burn.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended or near children or pets.
  • Never let a candle or tea light burn down to the bottom of the container, always leave some wax at the bottom.
  • You can recycle the aluminum tea light cups with your drink cans.
  • Candles can be dangerous if not used correctly. Lemon Myrtle Natural and our manufacturers cannot be held liable for any misuse of our products.
  • Please enjoy your candles responsibly.
